Tim's Story

Tim grew up in Peoria, Illinois, the second youngest of nine children.  He went to high school at Peoria Notre Dame where he was a shining star on the football field and the life of the party off the field.  Wherever Tim led, many followed because of his charm, his smile, his intelligence and his loving heart.

Tim received a full athletic scholarship to play football for Western Illinois University where he continued to stand out on the field. (You can read about some of his feats by clicking here and here.)

After earning his degree, Tim exchanged his football uniform for a suit and tie when he took a job at Caterpillar in Peoria.  His eyes shone as he told about his work there.  Though no longer catching passes and scoring touchdowns, Tim's star remained bright as he moved up in the corporate world.  He earned a promotion and moved to Aurora, Illinois.

Later Tim was hired as a National Account Manager for Computer Associates.  He was happily married and had a beautiful daughter whose blonde hair and crystal blue eyes matched his.  To everyone who knew him, Tim had it all.

But few knew Tim experienced anxiety and depression.

Some time during the early morning hours of July 29, 2002, fewer than three months after his 30th birthday, Tim ended his journey on earth.

His family and friends chose not to hide Tim's suicide but to speak out about it in the hope of preventing the unnecessary loss of life.
